DIDULA THARUSARA
In Sound Design,
Every Element Has a Job.

Film sound is where the engineering side and the music side of my training actually meet. Most of a project, for me, is working out what the scene needs the sound to do before anything gets built. Recently completed a BA (Hons) in Music and Sound Production at BIMM University Bristol, where I had a major focus on film sound design.
- BA (Hons) Music & Sound Production — BIMM University Bristol

My career as an artist began in 2018. Since releasing my first original track Lan Wenawa in March 2020, I've built an independent catalog spanning Pop, Indian Pop, Ambient, and EDM. Featured twice in the BBC Asian Network Top 25, and named one of Sri Lanka's Top Artists of 2023 on Spotify.

Written and Produced for Artists

Through D'COMP, I write, compose, and produce music for other artists, from the first idea through to the final master. The catalog spans Pop, Electronic, and beyond. Every project is handled in-house across the full chain: arrangement, recording, mixing, mastering. I'll work in whatever genre the song needs.
Sound Informs Everything.
So Does the Frame.

D'COMP Films produces short films, music videos, and promotional content. I handle scripting, storyboarding, shooting, and post-production, which means I get to work on the relationship between sound and picture from the start rather than at the end.

I never picked one lane.
I'm Didula, originally from Colombo, now based in London. I've worked as an engineer, a composer, an artist, and a director, often on the same project. What keeps me interested is the same thing every time: what should this sound like, and why?
